The Poetto Beach is located along the southern coast of the island. It is the main beach of Cagliari city and extends for about twelve kilo meters from the Sella del Diavolo to the beginning of the coast of Quartu Sant 'Elena. It is considered one of the largest city beaches in Europe, and also the most beautiful and popular on the island, so much so that it is also called "the beach of a hundred thousand".
