Description

The Lazzaretto beach is located on the Riviera del Corallo, that is, in the north-western part of Sardinia, a few kilo meters from Alghero city. It owes its name to the fact that there was once a building, built in the sixth century, intended for the assistance of the personnel of the boats, forced to quarantine, arriving from the countries where the plague was widespread. This enchanting beach is about four hundred meters long and its sand is soft and fine with the limpid sea sloping down towards the open sea which makes it safe even for children. It is suitable for snorkelers as it is located in a beautiful bay, where near the rocks it is possible to admire the marine flora and fauna typical of the Sardinian coast.
