Description

The Cala d’Oliva Beach is located in the north-western part of Sardinia within the beautiful Asinara National Park. It is a suggestive beach, also known as the Beach of the Prisoners because until 1997 there was a penal colony that housed a maximum security prison while today it is used as the headquarters of the Park Authority and the Environmental Education Center. Its beach is characterized by white sand with medium grains and its sea is blue and very clear. The sandy and rocky bottoms are rich in marine flora and fauna and it is possible to admire from the coast the fish that come close, not at all intimidated by the presence of man. It is possible to visit this enchanting cove only with organized and authorized visits.
