The beautiful Dolmen Sa Coveccada is located a few kilo meters away from Mores, a pretty town in the province of Sassari, in the north of Sardinia. Located on a large trachyte plateau, it is the largest of the whole island, and is clearly visible from a distance: with the "house" shape still intact it represents the symbol of Mores. Prehistoric megalithic tomb, without the back wall and part of the roof, develops on a rectangular plan formed by three large square slabs placed vertically in special housings prepared before laying. Given its large size (5 m by 2.20 m) it is considered a monument among the most important in the world also for its peculiarities as evolutionary elements of the sepulchral architectural structures of Sardinia prehistory.
